Math Club is owned and operated by Amanda von Jentzen. Amanda is an educator who has been working in the field of education for 19 years. She has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary & Special Education, a Masters Degree in Math Curriculum and Instruction, holds a National Board Certification, and countless other awards. She has taught students in kindergarten through college level, as well as providing teacher workshops in a variety of settings. Amanda is passionate about using current strategies for teaching math that are rooted in brain based research and develop student understanding using a constructivist approach.

vonJentzen Consulting offers math tutoring for all, from elementary school through high school and beyond. We have a track record of satisfied children and parents We support students who are not meeting grade level standards to fill in the holes in knowledge and understanding in order to be successful in current grade level material. We help students to make sense of current curriculum by guiding them through content, discussing and describing what they are doing and why, and provide practice problems to become masters in the content. We support high school and college students to further their understanding and prepare for upcoming quizzes, chapter exams and high school exit exams. We support older students to prepare for professional exams, such as college entrance exams, SAT’s, and professional exams (for example: teacher certification exams, real estate exams, and lineman exams). We support teachers in furthering their practice through teacher book studies and professional development workshops.

Above all, we take pride in guiding students through learning to analyze problems, use what they already know to find an entry to solve problems, and build confidence. We see mistakes as pathways to learning, so analyzing what mistakes are made and learning to think logically through the steps they are making to be successful.

Math Club first opened in Guangzhou, China in 2017 when Amanda lived there. Upon returning to the United States, the business was reopened in 2019 and has been helping students to understand math ever since. Clients include: elementary, middle and high school students, college students, teachers, and adults working towards professional certifications that include a math component. Services include: tutoring , test preparation, summer camps, home school math instruction, and teacher professional development.
